As I learned to trade stock options, it was difficult for me to find a good lesson on the populations of graphics. I kind of discovered only on my own. As options are derived or come from stocks, it is essential to know how the share price is behaving like this will greatly affect the value of your choice.

It's no different to do science experiments at school. You collect data (stock prices) and then the data is plotted for you can see the overview of how big is happening. There are also several tools (technical indicators) you can use to help you read the cards, however, are beyond the scope of this lesson.

Technical analysis is the formal name for the inventory analysis and mapping. There are some merchants who are pure traders Technical Analysis. They use the table and nothing else. According to technical analysts, the chart may provide important clues about how carry out an action in the future.

Tracing populations of large losses can protect you and help you advance your options trading gains. In order to maximize what the chart is saying, you must first understand the basics of reading stock charts.

A graph contribution is simply a graphical representation of the populations in price during a specified period of time. The graph shows at a glance how an action has done.

There are three 3 basic types of stock charts (bar, line, and the candlestick) and depending on your negotiating style, each card will its sole purpose. No matter what type of graphics you use, the three do nothing but reveal the buying and selling patterns of investors. This is something it is difficult to discern by reading the stock quotes in the paper. That's why people draw has become so valuable.

My wife thinks a graph contribution is like a heart rate monitor hospital. I also wondered what all those numbers meant, and wavy lines when I started to plan actions.

4 Key Areas of each Stock Chart

There are 4 key areas which will want to familiarize yourself with which stocks Graphics:

  1. Identification Section
  2. Deadlines
  3. Volume bars
  4. "X" and "Y" axis

We're going to pull a stock chart and go over these key areas. For our example we will use the table of Potash Corporation. To follow along go to Marketwatch.com and type in the upper right corner symbol POT.

Identification Section

  • Business Name: Potash Corporation
  • Trading symbol: POT
  • When negotiable Stock Exchange: New York Stock Exchange "NYSE"
  • Current Date: (top right)
  • Price change days: opening price, day high price, the price of days off, and closing price
  • Volume: number of shares traded shares for specific time period
  • Change: it's about changing the day of the dollar compared with yesterday's closing price. The change in the dollar and percentage change will be listed.

Deadline: The graph shows what time frame you are viewing (1 year, 6 months, etc..) It is very advisable to change the time frame to suit your negotiating style. As for a table of 3-6 months is required if you have a short-term investment plan, 1-5 years, if you have a plan for long-term investment.

Bars volume: The volume is often called the heart of the stock market. It is a key indicator of supply and demand. Looking at the volume bars can get a good idea of the force behind the movement of prices. Rising more action heavy volume is much more likely to continue increasing one that is moving higher on light volume.

"X" and "Y" axis: "X" axis is the lower portion of the graph, which runs horizontally, and flows left to right. The portion of the graph is the time frame you are watching. The left side is the past and the right is the present. We use the past as a reference, but trade in the right side of the graph. We negotiated what we see now.

The Y axis is the right side of the chart, running vertically, and flows up and down. This portion of the graph has the share price.

Essentially for the beginner, stock charts are reduced to three things:

  1. You will find the correlation between stock price and volume activity (as shown by the price and volume bars).
  2. You'll see the table and determine if the stock price has a trend up or down. If past trends have, I buy call options. If it's been a downward trend, I can buy put options.
  3. You will to determine the location of the action support and resistance levels are. Support and resistance are the areas where the population has struggled to go past, or in an area where the action stops and changes direction.

As you flip through your stock charts, you'll start to see stocks that appear to interesting. Point down and that these populations are finally going to use to build your list of daily supervision. Then apply tools (Technical indicators) to the table to better identify business opportunities.

A stock chart can provide a wealth of knowledge as long as you know and understand what you are seeing. Basic knowledge of graphic combined with other stock indicators can greatly improve their negotiation skills.
