The bow and arrow combination has been around for centuries as a weapon used by armies and as a valuable tool for hunting. Today hunting the arrow is rising again in popularity, as well as archery competitions. The growing demand for this sport has spurred new innovations and arch styles can cater to every skill level and discipline. Today there are four common types in the market bow: bow, crossbow, recurve and the compound bow.

Arc

The arc has been for centuries and was popular for sport and as a weapon of war during the Middle Ages. The arch is the simplest of all arcs, usually one piece of wood and views that do not have, arrow rest or any other bits and pieces used with recurve and compound. Longbow are more or less the same height as the archer, and provide a good dose of stability, but not always the best accuracy.

Crossbow

Ballestas are different from other arches in the way carried out and executed. With the crossbow, archers could release a draw force far greater than what could have with a traditional bow. Moreover, crossbows could kept cocked and ready to fire for some time with little effort, allowing crossbowmen to aim better. The disadvantages of a crossbow is that they are much heavier and more awkward than traditional bows.

Recurve Bow

Recurve bows are the bows today's most popular and commonly used to teach beginners who are interested in archery. The name comes from the side profile of the arc – the most central part of the limbs curve to the archer, The tips of the limbs curve away (and therefore re-curve). The arch form is more efficient at storing energy than the straight wire of an arc traditional. The recurve is composed of three main parts: the lifting "(mango) and two" legs "that the screw slot or in the elevator.

Arc compound

The compound bow is an arc relatively new on the scene, having been invented in the 1970s. This is the technology Advanced arc to date, and is becoming the most popular bow for archery. These arcs are much more rigid limbs recurve, so that a system cables and pulleys is required to have influence and make it bend. Compounds tend to be more precise and powerful that recurve and when it is fully back, require much less force to hold a recurve with a similar draw weight.
